2024 International Awards: Ishwari Kapale

Ishwari Kapale is a 2024 recipient of the Homer Higbee International Education Award, which is presented to MSU students and volunteers who have made significant contributions to the advancement of international communication, understanding and cooperation through service.
Kapale graduated in 2024 with a B.S. in electrical engineering at the College of Engineering. She is an international student from India, who served as vice president of the International Students Association and the Senior Class Council at MSU.
Kapale was engaged in campus life since her freshman year, actively participating in advocacy and leadership roles. Among other roles, she served as Freshman Class Council President, Women’s Council Secretary, International Representative for the College of Engineering. She was also selected to represent the Class of 2024 as one of the Convocation Student Speakers, where she provided remarks to over 18,000 attendees.
Kapale was nominated by Tammye Coles, associate director of the Office of Spartan Experiences. "It is evident through her service and her commitment to Michigan State University that she is an exceptional ambassador for Michigan State University," said Coles.
